Configuration Guide General instructions for configuring your mail client to send outgoing mail through Zajoni: 1) In your mail client's settings, specify smtp.zajoni.com as the name of the outgoing SMTP mail server. The mail client should use port 25 or port 587 to connect to smpt.zajoni.com.* 2) Set your mail client to use authentication with your outgoing mail server, and provide your Zajoni username and password when prompted by your mail client for the username and password to login to smtp.zajoni.com. Note: Only these settings pertaining to outgoing mail should be changed - no settings pertaining to incoming mail (POP or IMAP) should be changed. Changing settings that pertain to incoming mail may disrupt access to your incoming mail. To configure Microsoft Outlook to send outgoing mail through Zajoni for an existing email account: 1) In Outlook, click 'Tools' on the main menu, then click 'Email Accounts'. In the 'E-mail Accounts' window, select the radio button labelled 'View or change existing email accounts', and click 'Next'. Outlook will display a list of accounts currently in use. Click the account that you want to configure to send mail through Zajoni, then click the 'Change' button. 2) In the box labeled 'Outgoing mail (SMTP)', enter: smtp.zajoni.com. 3) Click the button labeled 'More Settings'. In the 'Internet Email Settings' window, click the tab labeled 'Outgoing Server'. 4) Check the box labeled 'My server requires authentication', and select the radio button labeled 'Log on using', then type your Zajoni username and password in the boxes below, and check the box labeled 'Remember password'. 5) Click 'OK' in the 'Internet Email Settings' window, then click 'Next', in the 'E-mail Accounts' window, then click 'Finish'. To configure Microsoft Outlook Express to send outgoing mail through Zajoni for an existing email account: 1) In Outlook Express, click 'Tools' on the main menu, then click 'Accounts'. Outlook Express will display a list of accounts currently in use. Click the account that you want to configure to send mail through Zajoni, then click 'Properties'. In the 'Properties' window, click the 'Servers' tab. 2) In the box labeled 'Outgoing mail (SMTP)', enter: smtp.zajoni.com. 3) Check the box labeled 'My server requires authentication', and click the button labeled 'Settings'. 4) In the 'Outgoing Mail Server' window, select the radio button labeled 'Log on using', then type your Zajoni username and password in the boxes below, and check the box labeled 'Remember password' 5) Click 'OK' in the 'Outgoing Mail Server' window, click 'OK', in the 'Properties' window, and click 'Close' in the 'Internet Accounts' window. To configure Mozilla Thunderbird to send outgoing mail through Zajoni for an existing email account: 1) In Thunderbird, click 'Tools' on the main menu, then click 'Account Settings'. In the 'Account Settings' window, click 'Outgoing Server (SMTP)'. Click the 'Add' button. 2) In the 'SMTP Server' window, in the box labeled 'Description', type: Zajoni SMTP Server. In the box labeled 'Server Name', enter: smtp.zajoni.com. In the box labeled 'Port', enter: 25. Check the box labeled 'Use name and password'. In the box labeled 'User Name' enter your Zajoni username. Under 'Use secure connection', select the radio button labeled 'No'. 3) Click 'Ok'. Select the account that you want to use for the Zajoni SMTP Server and change the 'Outgoing Server (SMTP):' to 'Zajoni SMTP Server'. Click 'Ok'. 4) To send a message using the Zajoni SMTP server, compose a new message and send. Thunderbird will prompt you to enter your Zajoni password. Enter the password, click the box labeled 'remember password', and click 'Ok'. * Most clients default to port 25 as the port used for outgoing SMTP. However, some ISPs may block outgoing connections on port 25 to SMTP servers outside of the ISP's network. If you are unable to connect to Zajoni.com on port 25, then use port alternate port 587 instead. |
